What if I'm a beginner?

All are welcome to all of our classes. For specific recommendations, we suggest reaching out (undefined)so we can help find a class that fits you- no two beginners are the same and different learning styles, history, and goals will impact where you start. How do I sign up?

We use a platform called Momence (https://momence.com/u/yoga-people-oneonta-i6hegJ)to schedule our classes- you can book directly on our page here,(www.yogapeopleoneonta.com/classes) or download the Momence app on your favorite app store and search "Yoga People Oneonta." All classes must be paid for in order to register in advance, and we highly recommend doing so! Walk-ins are accepted as space allows.

Question 3

Why do I have to make an account, can't I just show up?

We too miss the good ol' days of just showing up and practicing yoga, and we hope to make the experience as simple as possible. But to keep our business running smoothly, we need to use technology to keep things organized. Creating an account (even if you're just visiting!) helps us track important key measures, report our proper taxes, and keep track of who comes in and out of our doors. Plus, it makes it easy for you to come back in the future. We promise we'll never sell your info or email you junk!

What do I need to bring?

Yourself and an open mind is all you need. Mats are suggested, but we have some to rent if needed. We recommend something you don't mind getting sweaty in if it's a heated class, and water is always suggested.

What are the basic expectations in studio etiquette?

Arrive early. 
Give yourself 15 minutes to settle in, maybe more if you haven't visited us before. We lock the doors at the start of class and no-shows are nonrefundable.
 
Mums the word.
Yoga is better together, and we love being a place for connection. Chat and meet your neighbors before class, but keep voices low so others can enjoy the stillness. Please refrain from talking during class, and help keep the space as quiet as possible during savasana. If you have something exciting to share, the lobby is the perfect spot post-class! 
 
Stay for the Closing. 
If you think you may need to leave early, let your teacher know before class—this should be for true emergencies only.
 
Simplify. 
Bring only what you need into the studio (ex: Mat, Water, Towel) and leave bags, devices, and belongings in the lobby. Please avoid fragrances, strong smells, and essential oils in the studio.

Distance from Devices
Phones, smartwatches, and other devices should stay in the lobby unless absolutely necessary. If you must bring one in, keep it on silent and choose a spot near the door so you can exit quietly if needed. Filming or photographing in the studio is not permitted.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Yes. Clients must be 16 or older to participate, and those under 18 must have written permission from a caregiver or doctor.  Clients under 16 will be admitted on a case by case basis by reaching out (undefined)in advance.

What time should I arrive?

Please give yourself at least 10-15 minutes to arrive- for the safety of the community and our belongings, we lock our doors at the start of class and late arrivals are nonrefundable.

What is your cancelation policy?

Accepted Answer

Classes can be canceled up to 6 hours before they start. Anything later, including no shows, is nonrefundable. If canceled in time, your pass will be returned to your account for later use. If you need to refund the class to your credit card, contact us directly. NOTE: The door is locked at the start of each class and we do not allow late entry- if you are locked out, it is considered a no-show and is nonrefundable.

What if I'm waitlisted?

If you're on the waitlist, keep your phone handy!

If a spot opens more than 30 minutes before class, the first person on the waitlist will get a text and have 10 minutes to confirm before we offer it to the next person.

If a spot opens within 30 minutes, we play "Fastest Fingers" and all waitlisted clients will get a text, and the first to confirm gets the spot.

You’ll only be charged if you confirm. If payment fails, the spot will be offered to the next person.

Do you offer prenatal classes?

Our teachers are all trained in prenatal yoga and will adapt any class to be safe for pregnant people. We recommend taking a private class or two if you'd like to learn specific modifications to support your pregnancy journey! Contact us if you'd like access to our online library of prenatal classes.

How do I purchase a gift card?

We'd be delighted to help you give the gift that keeps on giving! All you need is the recipient's name and email, then select an amount and the date you'd like it to hit their inbox! Popular amounts are $18 (single class) $70 (5 Class Pack) and $130 (10 Class Pack) but the card will function like cash so you can load any amount and they can use it towards any purchase. Question 13

How do I give a pass to a friend?

Accepted Answer

Package pricing is discounted for single-person use, we do not allow sharing of packages. To book for a friend, sign up for class as you normally would but in the checkout page you should see a "Bring a Guest" toggle. If you have a membership that includes guest passes, it will automatically populate. You'll need your friend's name and email to complete the purchase.
