Bhakti Karla Sikora
Bhakti began her practice and teaching of yoga in 1972 when she met her Teacher H.H. Sri Swami Satchidananda. Her style is intuitive and introspective, focusing on the needs of the students, enabling an authentic expression of your yoga in your body. “In this way, we can allow yoga to do what it was divinely designed to do by creating balance and space for transformation. We can approach our edge with respect and compassion for ourselves, opening to greater awareness and releasing that which no longer serves us.”
Yoga has seen her through all of her ups and downs, joys and sorrows, a testament to yoga’s holistic essence and enduring power for transformation. “Yoga is an exquisite vehicle for ascending consciousness and embodying Soul!” She is in awe of this power of yoga every time she practices which deeply inspires her to share this practice with you!
She has received certification through the Integral Yoga Institute, Center for Meditation Science and Integrative Yoga Therapy at Kripalu. Bhakti is a certified level III Usui and level II Karuna Reiki practitioner, trained and initiated by Sarah Root. She infuses her classes with Reiki energy to assist each participant with their yoga experience.
Bhakti has lived in the Oneonta area for over forty years where she raised her two children and was employed as an LPN. She loves Nature and the outdoors, honoring and playing with the natural elements.
