About the event
Join local author Lara Land for a community event centered in stress relief techniques and strategies. Lara reads from her book and shares how to identify stressors in ourselves and become more sensitive to traumas that may be hidden in our community. You'll come away with three practices you can do from home to regulate your nervous system, sleep more soundly, and improve the quality of your relationships.
Come and go as you're able, but stay for the whole party to enjoy book signing, giveaways, and locally curated treats! More info to come!
All are welcome. Whether you practice yoga or not, there will be teachings for everyone.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Lara Land is a deeply compassionate somatic life coach, consultant and yoga teacher trainer specializing in trauma sensitivity. Her work is in helping to heal trauma both subtle and significant and train others using trauma sensitive yoga, meditation, mindfulness and breathing practices. Lara has spent the last 25 years studying yoga and sharing yoga asana, chanting, meditation, and philosophy directly from her teachers in India. Her commitment is to honor the traditions of yoga by responding to the needs of each individual, using a unique combination of practices and techniques that are appropriate for their personal growth. Some of her many certifications include: trauma informed mindfulness, life coaching, somatic attachment therapy, and mindfulness in nature.
Lara is the founder of Land Yoga, Executive Director of nonprofit Three and a Half Acres Yoga and the co-founder of SOULFest. She has been featured in and contributed to New York Magazine, Huffington Post, Yoga Journal, Apartment Therapy and on Fox5, CBS, NY1 and SiriusRadioXM. Lara's first book, My Bliss Book life-purpose planner was self published in 2019 and her latest, The Essential Guide to Trauma Sensitive Yoga is out May 2023 for Shambhala Publications. She hosts the Beyond Trauma podcast.
